Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom produced 7900t of uranium in 2016, including 4900t at mines outside Russia, Rosatom said on 20 February. This was an increase on the 7849t produced in 2015.

Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ), Rosatom’s uranium holding subsidiary, produced 3004t in 2016, compared with 3055t in 2015.  Rosatom, is the third largest world uranium producer and its uranium resources now rank second in the world at 524,700t, Rosatom said. Rosatom’s international mining division, Uranium One Inc, increased its production of uranium by 1.8% to 4880t in 2016, the division said in its annual report on 15 February.
