Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power on 21 January awarded Russia's Techsnabexport (Tenex) a $500 million contract to supply uranium enrichment services until 2030. Tenex, part of Atomenergoprom, is the nuclear fuel cycle subsidiary of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom. It has been providing enrichment services to South Korea since 1993 and the new contract brings the total value of Tenex's portfolio of contracts with KHNP to $2 billion. Tenex supplies nearly one third of the needs of foreign-design nuclear power plants for uranium enrichment services. The company delivers enriched uranium products and provides uranium conversion and enrichment services for all key regional segments of the global market. Since 2015 Tenex has been using Vostochny Port in the Russian Far East for its deliveries to South Korea.
