AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been selected by Sellafield Limited as one of three companies to undertake a range of asset care projects at the Sellafield nuclear complex in Cumbria.

The Multi Discipline Site Works (MDSW) framework agreement also involves Hertel UK Ltd and Shepley Engineers Ltd. It is an extension of an existing arrangement covering maintenance tasks, asset care and restoration projects across the Sellafield site. The framework is estimated to be worth in excess of £200 million over a period of up to four years.

“We are pleased to be operating in this award-winning collaborative arrangement that continues to realise benefits for Sellafield, such as standardisation of contracts, reduction in contract numbers, rationalisation of the supply chain and encouragement of innovation,” said Tom Jones, AMEC Director for Nuclear Services.

Keith Case, Sellafield Ltd. Commercial Director, said: “The MDSW framework is a significant piece of work for the site as it helps provide a pathway to the new, longer term partnering arrangements that we feel will deliver benefits.”
