Testing procedures at Temelin will shortly resume, said plant spokesman Vaclav Brom.

The tests were suspended in mid-January when defects were found in steam pipes in the reactor’s secondary non-nuclear circuits. Brom said repair work was due to be completed by 20 February.

If testing started shortly after that, there will be no need to postpone the start-up date for commercial operation.

CEZ hopes to begin commercial operation of Temelin in May 2001.
