Comanche Peak in Texas is the proposed site for two new nuclear units with a combined capacity of about 3.4 GW, according to recent statement from TXU.
The company has said that it will now focus any combined construction and operating licence (COL) on the Comanche site only and no longer intends to investigate other sites for new nuclear development.
Previously the company, now controlled by investment vehicles including KKR, has said it planned to develop up to 6 GW of new nuclear capacity based on Mitsubishi Heavy Industries technology.
