Lee-Dickens is a private limited company, which has been involved in the design and manufacture of high integrity industrial and military process monitoring and control systems for more than 60 years. We have an enviable reputation for product design, innovation and quality established over a wide customer base and the company is assessed to ISO 9001:2015.
The Process Equipment Division is involved in the design and manufacture of a comprehensive range of Electronic Process Control and Monitoring Instrumentation, including Signal Conditioning Equipment, Sensors and Transmitters for Temperature, Humidity and Level, Digital Process Indicators and Signal Multiplexers.
The signal conditioning ranges include: Trip Amplifiers; Isolating Signal Converters; Signal Amplifiers; Load-Cell/Strain Gauge Amplifiers; Signal Splitters; Frequency to Current/Voltage Converters; Sample and Hold Devices; Programmable Converters; Programmable Analogue Maths modules; Integrators; Differentiators; and Signal Linearisers. A number of these products are assessed to IEC61508 and have SIL ratings. Full FMEDA reports are available upon request.
The Level measurement offered is based upon the well known 80 Series Telstor and Tektor capacitance probes and controllers, and, the 81 Series Noflote conductivity probes and controllers. Lee-Dickens purchased these ranges from ABB in 2001.
The Process Equipment Division also provides a sub-contract service for bespoke product or printed circuit board (pcb) design, prototype, manufacture and test to customer requirements and specifications.
Many of these industrial designs have formed the basis for our Bespoke Customer Specific Product Designs. In the early 1970s we supplied our first equipment to military requirements and since then our engineering department has grown into a team of hardware and software design engineers with many years experience.
The following gives a flavour of the type of systems, equipment and services that we have supplied to various customers in the past:
- Position Monitoring: Pitch angle; rate of change of pitch and depth; mast extension; etc.
- Temperature Monitoring: Reactor feed and coolant water; main and auxiliary machinery spaces; etc.
- Alarm Systems: Main and auxiliary machinery flood; weapons alarm line; local and group warning with ISIS interface, etc.
- Level Monitoring: Reactor feed and coolant water; lubricating oil; periscope well; etc.
- General Equipment: Signal Conditioning equipment for temperature, pressure, level and flow transducers. Signal isolation amplifiers; power supplies; rpm monitoring and display; motor power and current consumption; thermocouple and RTB head amplifiers; relative humidity monitoring; conductivity (salinity) monitoring, etc.
- Services: Design, Development and Testing of electrical and electronic systems, equipment and modules to meet a customer specification.
Development of existing equipment to meet upgraded specifications, draughting services to MoD approved standards and manufacture, inspection and test of systems and equipment developed in-house or by other sub-contractors.
The Systems Division is involved in the design, manufacture, supply, installation, commissioning and setting to work of Telemetry, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and, Remote Control and Monitoring Systems.
The telemetry range includes: the Sitewatch Data Concentrator; the Sitewatch MIDI web-based RTU; and a Data Centre service for remote monitoring with the data accessible by the client through his internet browser.
